The main aim of the Mizo in their religious view is to enter into Pialral (paradise) after they die Mizo believed in immortality of the soul. They belief that the soul went into Mitthi khua and settle there forever. They also belief that Mitthi Khua consist of two places (1) Mitthi khua (village for the souls of ordinary people). (ii) Pialral (Paradise for great hunters and mighty warrior)
This place is meant for the
souls of ordinary people. Ordinary people who do not achieved great things during their lifetime It in strongly belief that they will continue to work for their living. 2. Pialral (Paradise) This is the place for great hunters and mighty warriors who achieved great things in their lifetime. It's a luxurious living with all the food and needs available bountifully.
The people are named as THANGCHHUAHTUTE To be a Thangchhuah two conditions are available either one of which is to be accomplish
Condition 1: One can be a Thangchhuah at home fulfilling all their religious doctrine, hosting a big feast for the whole village feeding them with quality food and meat
Condition 2: Thangchhuah in the jungle/forest. Here one must killed specified wild animals from the forest like: Barking deer, wild pigs, bear, deer and elephants (specified wild animals may differ with places).
So, to be a Thangchhuah one must be rich, a great hunter, mighty warrior with great abilities. Because of this reason it seems impossible for an ordinary non-privileged person to be a Thangchhuah
It is important to know that before entering to Mitthi khua the souls had to pass through certain places which are mention in chronological order Pialtlep, Lungleihlawn, Lungrahbak, Hruaikawn, Luruhkham, Hringlang Tlâng. Hawilopâr. Lunglohtui and finally Pawla kawtchhuah and then they enter into Mitthi khua. All the places mentioned are within the territory of Mualkawi village. The journey of the souls to enter Mitthi khua is especially the belief of Lusei clan of Mizo.
Let us discussed a few important places:
Hringlang Tlâng: The souls on their journey to Mitthi khua reached to a place called Hringlang Tlâng from where the mortal world can be viewed. They hesitate to leave this place as this is the only place where they can view their loved ones, family and relatives. In this place they are filled with great sorrow and nostalgia and shed their tears. For this reason the place is also called as "Tahna Tlang" (mountain tears). But then they were guided towards Hawilopâr
Hawilopâr: Hawilopâr is a flower that does not look back. Souls who cry and longs for the mortal world are finally guided to a place where this flower (Hawilopâr) blooms beautifully Each one of them is gifted with this flower by their guide and now they are not allowed to look back to the mortal world anymore. At the same time their longings and desire for the mortal world still remain. Then they were guided to a new place Lunglohtui.
Lunglohtui: Lunglohtui is a fountain of water. The souls who already recieved the flower i.e. Hawilopar (a flower not to look back again) still talks about their family and relatives and had great longings for the mortal world. So in order to stop their longings and desire they were made to drink the water (Lunglohtui). After drinking this water their longings and desire for mortal world was gone and wiped away. Then finally full with great enthusiasm they moved forward to Mitthi khua longing to reach there as soon as possible.
After visiting all these places they finally reached Mitthi khua Rihdil and settle there. Here at Rihdil the souls of ordinary person(minaran) and the souls of mighty warriors(thangchhuahtute) settle but in a separate regions/place.
